I am sending this email to you this afternoon to share some very important news regarding Cordova Wellness Center. I am reminded of the verses in Ecclesiastes 3. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…” (Ecc 3:1). These verses have been a part of a careful process of prayer and discernment that I have been undergoing in order to seek God’s direction for myself, my family, and my career.
After careful consideration and in the confidence that God is leading me toward a new journey for my professional career, I am saddened to announce that at the end of this week (Friday, October 31st), after nearly 11 years as the Facility Director, I will be leaving Cordova Wellness Center. I recognize that this news is both sudden and life-changing for all us. Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to share this news with many of you face to face over the past week. I only wish that I was able to speak to each of you in person to share this news. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity that I have had to work with each of you to help you in your pursuit of achieving your health and fitness goals. I hope that I have helped equip you with the knowledge, confidence, and desire to continue striving for your health and fitness goals as you transition to a new fitness center.
The facility will remain open through November 30 and then will close its doors thereafter. You will have access to the Center during the month of November from 5am-10pm. I will periodically be on-site to ensure that water is stocked, restrooms are stocked with paper products, shower soap and towels, as well as to maintain the cleanliness of the Center.
I would recommend that you consider one of the following exercise facilities which are in close proximity to CWC:
Silver Sneakers program available (no cost program available to Medicare supplement plan consumers)
Personal Training available in a variety of options: individual, buddy, and group options ($39/half-hour and $70/hour are base rates)
The process of change is never an easy one and often times requires significant adjustments from what is familiar, known and comfortable to that which is unfamiliar, unknown and uncomfortable. However, as you all are aware in regard to your pursuit of your health and fitness goals, change is a necessary process and is at the start of all things new. I don’t know what “next” is for me yet and I humbly ask for your prayers in finding God’s plan for my employment. Thank you all for your commitment to the Cordova Wellness Center over the years and for providing me with the opportunity to be a part of your health and fitness journey. The relationships that have been forged here have been such a blessing to me in so many ways.
